Our story
Few words about us
Situated in Coulter Lane, The Nelson Inn is believed to date back to 1824 and was actually on the site in the 1500’s. In the beginning, it used to cater for the local agricultural community, the low-level building to the left of the main Public House which is now our Kitchen used to be the local Blacksmiths Shop and next to that was the local slaughterhouse. In these days it was known as the Lord Nelson.
With a stylish interior, our approach is friendly, informal and relaxed. We have a open fire place, so it’s that ‘home from home’ feel in the winter months.
There’s a beautiful large patio for alfresco dining in the summer and the kids can enjoy our outdoor areas too including a play area.
This means you can simply relax and enjoy the day with great food, chilled wines and a fantastic range of continental beers. We are also a popular watering hole for walkers as we are perfectly situated on one of Staffordshire’s most idyllic routes.
We can cater for Gluten intolerances, just ask on arrival for a gluten free menu.
Please note we are not dog friendly.
